This guy’s nine minute video on the 90′s Disney movie ‘Brink’ was unexpected

If you haven’t seen the 1998 made-for-TV Disney movie Brink, then I suggest you just stop reading this post now. You will not understand the post, you will hate me for posting this, and you will just think the whole thing is stupid.

If you have seen Brink, then maybe you will find this as enjoyable as I did.

Granted the movie is based on rollerblading and totally cheesy, I’ve always loved Brink. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the movie, but the number is up there, Disney had this thing in rotation constantly from 1998-2002. Good thing, too, this movie is awesome. Every now and then, I’m lucky enough to catch it on The Disney Channel at 3:30am. They still play it 14 years later, and that picture from my post the other day proves it.

Unfortunately, the movie isn’t available on Blu-Ray yet, nor iTunes, nor DVD. Luckily enough, it is on Amazon in VHS format and the seller only wants $85 for it. Does anyone have a VCR I can borrow?

Thankfully, there are other Brink fans out there, and this guy might be the biggest of them all. If I saw this guy on the street, I would never expect him to be a guy that wants to work for Disney making movies and TV shows, nor would I expect him to have ever seen Brink, let alone be an excellent rollerblader himself and have the desire to put up a nine minute YouTube video discussing the movie.

This guy is awesome. I’m a huge fan. I support this video.

Never judge a book by it’s cover.

Childish Gambino – “We Ain’t Them” (Live)

On Wednesday, Childish Gambino went on a Kanye-like tirade on his Twitter account. Although, it was not nearly as long as we’re used to with Kanye, it was still blog-like and introspective to say the least. The rant was followed by him linking to his IAMDONALD blog and officially releasing his latest, “We Ain’t Them.”

I’ve pretty much had this track on repeat since Wednesday night. I think at one point I listened to it seven or eight consecutive times. “We Ain’t Them” is the perfect track to listen to as that Midwest air starts to get warmer and summer nears. The beat, produced by Gambino, is fresh and almost signals listeners to roll down their windows and turn it up (if you’re driving). Lyrically, Gambino is on-point, putting himself out there on the track and staying away from the heavy punchline-laden raps that we’ve grown to love from the rapper/actor/writer/comedian, and it works. It works well. This track is a perfect tease to his upcoming mixtape that is expected to be released very soon.

Here’s Gambino performing the track live at a secret show for The Switch a few weeks back.

You can visit Gambino’s blog to download the track for free. The album artwork is interesting to say the least, I’ll let you decide what you think the meaning behind it is, I’ve had my theories about Gambino’s feelings about Drake for awhile now.

Don’t fear, my friends.

There are plenty of posts coming.

Sorry I haven’t been super active the past week or so. No worries. You will be bombarded tomorrow and from here on out.

I promise.
